Antonio Alexander serves as Co-Founder/Director/Arranger of the Georgia Mass Band, Inc. He attended the illustrious Jackson State University where he earned a Bachelors of Graphic Design. During his matriculation at Jackson State he marched 5 years in the well-renowned "Sonic Boom of the South" where he served as Mellophone Section Leader and Student Arranger. There he arranged many hits including Mt. Olympus, Scared of the Dark, The Hills, and many more.
While Antonio did not receive a degree in Music Education it did not stop nor hinder his progress as a reputable arranger. He continues to break boundaries with his diverse knowledge and execution of music; arranging acclaimed masterpieces such as Disney's “King of Pride Rock”. He loves all types of music, but his favorite genres are rock, movie soundtracks, classical, and trap rap. He prefers music that you can get immersed in with his all time favorite composer being Hans Zimmer.
A Georgia native, he participated in marching band most of his life. Growing up watching his auntie perform in Towers High School band he eventually went on to play snare and later switched to mellophone before graduating from Riverdale High School in 2012. He began taking interest in arranging his junior year in high school, but was composing music long before then. He transferred his knowledge for chord progressions and voicing over to marching band where he continued to develop his craft. From there he went on to arrange for various colleges and high schools. He now serves as Assistant Director/Arranger at Texas Southern University and continues to serve as Director of the Georgia Mass Band during the summer.
Outside of music, Antonio is an exceptional graphic designer. Doing animations, designing logos, and video editing, Antonio is truly a man of the arts. He is a member of the Red Dawg Order, Inc.
