Leaders of the Georgia Mass Band

Antonio Alexander serves as Co-Founder, Director, and Arranger of Georgia Mass Band, Inc. He attended Jackson State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. During his time at Jackson State, he marched five years in the renowned “Sonic Boom of the South,” serving as Mellophone Section Leader and Student Arranger. 

Marcus Cummings serves as a Co-Founder/Director/Arranger of the Georgia Mass Band. He is a Jackson State University alumnus, where he marched for 4 years in the "Sonic Boom of the South" and served as a saxophone section leader.

Tai Lee is one of the Assistant Directors and an Arranger for the Georgia Mass Band. A native of Southwest Atlanta, he is an alumnus of Westlake High School and a proud graduate of Jackson State University. 

William Youmans is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and a proud graduate of Cedar Grove High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from Jackson State University, where he marched with the world-renowned Sonic Boom of the South and served as Section Leader of the War & Thunder Drumline from 2020 to 2023.

James Outler is one of the Assistant Directors and an Arranger for the Georgia Mass Band. A native of College Park, Georgia, James is a graduate of North Clayton High School, where he marched with The Mighty Marching Eagles under the direction of Mr. Joseph Daise, graduating in 2019.

Shontavia James is the coach/choreographer for the Sophisticated Jewels of the Georgia Mass Band. She was born in Atlanta, Ga., and attended Spencer High School in Columbus, Ga. She graduated from Texas Southern University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Alyvia Henry serves as the Secretary for the Georgia Mass Band. A native of Peachtree City, Georgia, she is an alumna of Starr's Mill High School and is currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at Kennesaw State University.

Matthew Buggs serves as a Co-Founder/Director/Arranger of the Georgia Mass Band, Inc. A native of Stone Mountain, GA, he started playing trumpet in the 7th grade and continued through and after his matriculation throughout school.
