William Youmans

William Youmans is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and a proud graduate of Cedar Grove High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from Jackson State University, where he marched with the world-renowned Sonic Boom of the Southand served as Section Leader of the War & Thunder Drumline from 2020 to 2023.

In the spring of 2023, William was initiated into Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, and is also a member of Red Dawg Order Incorporated. His passion for percussion and music education has led him to mentor and develop young musicians throughout the metro Atlanta area.

William currently serves as the Assistant Director of Bands at Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Lithonia, Georgia. He most recently served as a director for the Atlanta All-Star High School Mass Band, where he helped cultivate musical excellence and leadership among high school students.

A proud alumnus of both the Georgia Mass Band and the Atlanta All-Star High School Mass Band, William brings a wealth of performance experience, instructional expertise, and leadership to his role as Percussion Instructor for the Georgia Mass Band. He is committed to developing strong musicians, disciplined performers, and confident leaders while upholding the organization's tradition of excellence.
