Marcus Cummings

Marcus Cummings serves as a Co-Founder/Director/Arranger of the Georgia Mass Band. He is a Jackson State University Alumnus where he marched 4 years in the "Sonic Boom of the South" and served as a saxophone section leader.

Born in Durham, North Carolina he moved to Georgia at the age of 3. He later went on to become Drum Major at Riverdale High School where he graduated and was awarded a scholarship to Jackson States top level Jazz Ensemble. After his matriculation, he graduated with a Bachelors in Music Education in 2017. 

He was an Euphonium ensemble instructor his last semester at Jackson State and later moved on to become the Band Director at Carver High School in Atlanta. 

He is a member of the Red Dawg Order, Inc. and a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc.
